Floyd Mayweather and Jake Paul were involved in a shocking brawl at the press conference for the former’s exhibition fight with latter’s brother, Logan, on Thursday.
The boxing legend met the two YouTubers at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, but things got out of hand when Paul squared up to Mayweather and stole his hat.
The event started off in standard fashion as Mayweather squared off with his opponent as planned.
They exchanged words on stage after the face-to-face and then separated.
Mayweather went off to one side of the stage and Paul to the other, both engaging in media interviews.
After about ten minutes, the younger Paul brother, who knocked out Ben Askren in his most recent fight, decided to confront Mayweather.
During the trash talk on stage, Mayweather told Logan he would beat both him and his brother on the same night.
Jake attempted to make this a reality by telling him to call his advisor Al Haymon and set up the double event.
In a scene right out of Austin Powers or an old Conor McGregor press conference, the YouTuber then grabbed the pound-for-pound legend’s hat and attempted to run away with it before being briefly choked by the boxer as the brawl broke out.
Punches were thrown amidst the mayhem.
Security got in between and separated them, but Mayweather wriggled away and came back for more
They were eventually broken up again with Jake ushered into a side room.
Mayweather was then filmed storming off, absolutely livid with the events that had just transpired.
Jake reacted by tweeting: “Honestly have had three easy fights as a pro so been itching for some real action.
“One of Floyd’s 30 bodyguards got a clean shot on me in the eye RESPECT!!”
And to add further insult to the man who retired with a 50-0 record, Paul then quickly added another tattoo to his body with the words ‘Gotcha hat’ and then changed his Twitter bio, too.
“Word on the street already is that Floyd is sending goons after me to try and kill me or hurt me,” he wrote. “If I die……. I died for the hat.”
