Yesterday evening, I was walking home from the grocery store when I saw the cutest thing…
Twenty minutes ago, ominous clouds blow in and I rush out to get milk and a banana, hope to make it back before the skies open. However, although I was in the store, the rain started I knew I was soaked when I walked home.
I decided to make a run for it to splash through the puddles. Suddenly, I looked up and saw a little figure run. When he got closer, I realized it was 10-year-old Toby!
“Mom!”, the He shouted through the rain. “I know you don’t have an umbrella so I’m here to save you!” He recognized his umbrella and I dodged.
My heart burst! This is one of those sweet parenting moments, so that all distance learning, the grumpy morning, the brothers and sisters of the struggle and whiny moments disappear. In these challenging times, these small things more than ever.
What has your silver lining is these days? What brought you moments of joy? A delicious dinner? Favorite movies? A great book? (I just finished Silver Sparrow and worship it; now, I read Just Mercy.)
P. S. Toby and Anton in conversation, when Toby go on a date.
