Bombs, bats, ants and now the trees.
Elon’s dream to open his first Tesla
gigafactory in Europe has been plagued by a series of obstacles, including all of the above.
Production at the site in Grünheide in the Middle East State of Brandenburg near Berlin, is scheduled to begin in September 2021, plans to build 500 000 units of the Y SUV and Model 3 sedan every year.
But this weekend, a German court ordered Tesla to stop the felling of trees on the site until it considered the appeal of the environmental organization Green Alliance of Brandenburg, it is believed that the plant could contaminate the area’s drinking water problems and other issues.
Response in the e-mail in the comments, Tesla spokesman in Switzerland said that there is no official statement on this issue. “The fact is the Higher Administrative Court(OVG)Berlin-Brandenburg has asked the Brandenburg state government initiated a preliminary stop deforestation, so that it has sufficient time to review application files. Statement by the OVG is expected tomorrow the earliest,”the spokesman said.
Tesla’s plan involved the reduction of 70 hectares, is expected to increase to 300 hectares. The latest robbery after seven U.S. World War II bombs found on the plant site has been demolished last month.
Tesla to pay € 40. 91 million($44.33 million)in the plant episode, which apparently is with a lot of small animals. German media reported last week, the US electric car manufacturer, has promised not only to plant three times the number of trees it chops down, however, the relocation of the Ant lizards and hang 400 box sets for the birds.
The company just a few weeks left to complete the task before the start of the breeding season of the birds. Last month, CEO Elon Musk tweeted This”Gigabit Berlin/GF4 will definitely be designed with sustainable development and Environmental Center.”
Tesla has two other vehicle plants in the United States and then in China, the Shanghai plant in operation in the next year and half, once you have the required permissions.
However, it should be analysts worry about a potential thorn in the side of Ezra, whose share has been obtained with up to 91% so far this year, in part by analyst upgrade? David Whiston analyst Morningstar Research Services, told markets through e-mail, it is too early to say whether investors should be worried.
“The worst case scenario is Tesla a waste of time and some money, and eventually come up with and found another site in Europe, but it’s way too early to think about it. Tesla needs to negotiate and work things out,”said Whiston.
“There is no precedent of the automotive industry of the government make it too difficult to build a plant. Tata evacuation of West Bengal in India in 2008, Nano-factory and construction factory in another part of the country,”he said.
Politicians from Germany’s Christian Democrats and the Liberal Democrat Party has warned that the legal battle carry out of the Gigafactory will cause serious and lasting damage to Germany’s image as a place to do business. Some quickly suggested on Twitter last Monday, Tesla welcome to the other place if Grünheide website does not work:
